WATSON

FOR CONGRESS

A BRIGHTER FUTURE

My name is Ezra Watson, and I am running to represent New York's 21st District in the United States Congress. I am running to offer our communities a bigger and bolder vision for the future, a vision where all New Yorkers can live to their fullest potential. I am running to represent the needs of the people, not the interests of any political party or interest group. I can't do this alone, especially since all of our funding comes from ordinary people like you and me. Will you join me in lighting a brighter future for North Country?

Meet EZRA

ORDINARY ROOTS

At first glance, it may not seem that Saratoga Springs, NY, and San Francisco, CA, have much in common. In 1975, I was born in the Golden State to a single mother, where I learned the values of hard work firsthand. For the early years of my life, my mother worked as a typist for a local health center in order to put food on the table and pay the rent for our small trailer, which we lived in until I turned nine.

"Will you join me in lighting a brighter future for North Country?"

Yet when I moved to Upstate New York in 2012, I found that the Redwoods and hiking trails of the Adirondack Mountains were not so very different from those I had known as a child. Throughout my life, I have had the opportunity to live in communities across our beautiful country, from California, to Illinois, to Virginia, and finally, to North Country, where I now live with my wife and daughter. As Americans, we have so much more in common with each other than we have that separates us.

"Will you join me in lighting a brighter future for North Country?"

I love this country, and it is because of that love that I want to make it better. We live in the richest country in the history of the world, yet we spend twice as much per capita on our healthcare as any other major industrialized nation. We live in the richest country in the history of the world, yet an unprecedented and dangerous amount of our national wealth is flowing to the top 1 percent. We cannot afford to be fly-by country in North Country any longer, unless we are okay with our children having a lower standard of living than we did.

As you come to know me and the policies that I am fighting to implement, I hope you will see that I am fighting for a new vision for Upstate New York. That vision says that ordinary people should have control over their own working lives and sense of dignity, rather than having to work two or three jobs just to put food on the table and pay the bills. I am running, not to represent any political party's agenda, but to represent the people's agenda.
